Jennifer Kimball is a Women’s and Gender Studies Major at the University of Missouri. She serves as the KOPN Community Radio Reel-to-Reel Project Director. Jennifer started a group to help families after Hurricane Katrina. She co-founded an anti-human trafficking group. This group hosts awareness events, received grant funding, and is organizing a national trafficking conference. She was a legislative intern for State Representative Judy Baker during the 2008 legislative session. She plans to work at a state-level agency as an advocacy or programs director focusing on human rights related to health care, economic disparities, and violence reduction. Her goal is to develop public policies that reduce violence and exploitation, especially as those issues affect women and other vulnerable populations. She is the 2008 Truman Scholar from Missouri.
